FAQ

Some answers to common questions are listed below:

Your prices are in GBP - can I buy in my own currency?

Yes you can, Lemon Squeezy LLC our endpoint sales provider will convert into your local preferred currency. Total price you pay is based on currency conversion and local taxes in your country.

Please note, that local sales tax is not included and will be paid directly to from Lemon Squeezy to your countries tax office.

Why did you decide against subscriptions?

We really dislike where some other companies have gone with regards to licensing.

At one time you paid once and you got it for life, now you get tied into paying monthly for a software that, unless you use constantly - it doesn't give you great value for money.

We decided with Fetch to just charge you once and you have it for life. If there is a major update, we will offer you a discount to upgrade.

Why did you name the software after dogs?

Because why not?

Truthfully, the first thing we started developing was a bit of a passion project and it was named after a plot device in a book.

However we disagreed with some of the author's views and so we eventually decided that we should rename that project.

After one of the founders went to Japan to work on a TV series - they saw the statue dedicated to Hachiko at Shibuya Station - inspired by humans most faithful companions - we then decided to name our products after famous dogs.

So where is Fetch | Hachi you ask? Well we are still tinkering with the idea - so who knows it may eventually come to fruition.

What language do you use for coding?

We decided to use Rust, it's cross platform capability is pretty awesome and we kept things simple by using egui to build the visual interface.

Why do you have a progress pride banner at the top of your site?

Because we truly believe in people being able to be themselves without judgement. This business is 50% Trans Owned & 50% ally owned.

We all look the same under the skin regardless of color, race, religion or gender and we have yet to meet a dog who would judge you because of that.

Who is behind Fetch Media Tools?

We are two people who both work in the Post Production and Broadcast industry in the UK, we wanted to make some tools to help us and decided to work together to bring them to you.

We have both known each other for a number of years before the founding of Fetch Media Tools.
