Quick Start - TLDR

Just want to dive in? Here’s the 60-second version.

  1. Install it — Grab the installer from fetchmedia.tools, run it, done.

  2. Launch it — You’ll see a 2x2 grid of empty viewer tiles.

  3. Find your sources — Menu → Sources → Refresh Sources. Give it a few seconds to scan the network.

  4. Assign sources — Right-click any viewer tile, pick an NDI® source from the menu. Repeat for each tile.

  5. Switch layouts — Menu → Layout → pick from 11 presets (1x1, 1x2, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 8x4, and more). Sources stay assigned when you switch.

  6. Save a pad — Once you’ve got a layout and sources configured, Menu → Pads → Save Current Pad. Name it something useful like “Pre-Show” or “Live”.

  7. Switch pads — Menu → Pads → pick a saved pad, or use Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+9 for instant recall. Perfect for switching between show states.

  8. Go fullscreen — Menu → View → Fullscreen (or Ctrl+F). Exit fullscreen the same way.

Free vs Licensed:
You can use basic layouts (1x1, 1x2) for free forever. Want custom layouts? You’ll need a license from Lemon Squeezy or our contact page. All monitoring features work without a license — the restriction is only on advanced layout features.

Pads vs Layouts:
Layouts define where viewers appear on screen. Pads save a complete state (layout + which sources are assigned to which viewers). Think of pads as snapshots of your entire monitoring setup.

Bandwidth Modes:
Full Resolution (high bandwidth, best quality) or Proxy Mode (low bandwidth, slightly reduced quality). Start with Proxy Mode unless you’re on a dedicated 10G network.

Audio Meters:
Every viewer shows live audio meters for the first 8 channels (or 16 if you enable it in Preferences). Green good, yellow pushing, red loud.

Audio Monitoring:
Click the speaker icon on any viewer to listen to that source through your speakers/headphones. You can monitor multiple viewers simultaneously — all enabled audio mixes together.

  • “I don’t see any sources” — Click Sources → Refresh Sources. If still nothing, check your network or discovery server config.
  • “Video is choppy” — Switch to Proxy Mode (File → Preferences → Bandwidth Mode → Proxy).
  • “I can’t save custom layouts” — You need a license. Basic layouts work without licensing.
  • “Audio isn’t working” — Check File → Preferences → Audio Output Device. Pick your speakers/headphones.
  • “Keyboard shortcuts don’t work” — Make sure no text field has focus. Click the main window canvas first.

If you’ve used multiviewers before, you’ll be productive in five minutes. Refresh sources, assign them to viewers, switch layouts if needed, save as a pad, done. For the details, keep reading. For now, just install it and click around — it’s pretty obvious.
