Software Updates
Nipper includes update checking functionality.
Automatic Update Check
Section titled “Automatic Update Check”At startup, Nipper checks for updates (non-blocking). If a newer version is available, a notification appears in the UI showing the version number and release notes summary. You can choose to download or skip - there’s no automatic installation, so you retain control over update timing.
Downloading Updates
Section titled “Downloading Updates”Click “Download” in update notification.
Opens browser to the Fetch website where you can download the appropriate installer for your platform.
Installing Updates
Section titled “Installing Updates”Windows:
Run new .msi installer.
Uninstalls old version and installs new version automatically.
macOS:
Open new .dmg disk image.
Replace existing Nipper in Applications folder.
Linux:
Install new package (overwrites old version).
Configuration files and settings preserved during updates.
Version Information
Section titled “Version Information”Menu → Help → About Nipper displays your current version number, build date, license status, copyright information, and credits and acknowledgements.
