Troubleshooting

HTML export opens but displays incorrectly:

Cause: Browser incompatibility (very old browser versions)

Solution:

  • Update browser to latest version
  • Try different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari all supported)

PDF export fails with “Browser not found” error:

Cause: Nipper cannot locate Chrome, Edge, or Chromium executable

Solution:

  • Install one of these browsers
  • Ensure browser is in standard installation location
  • Use HTML export + browser print workflow instead (more reliable)

Excel export produces empty file:

Cause: Disk permissions issue or filename conflict

Solution:

  • Check target directory has write permissions
  • Close any existing file with same name (Excel may have it locked)
  • Try saving to different location

CSV export opens but formatting looks wrong:

Cause: CSV opened in program with incorrect encoding or delimiter detection

Solution:

  • Open in Excel: Data → From Text/CSV → specify UTF-8 encoding
  • Open in LibreOffice: specify UTF-8 and comma delimiter
  • Verify file itself is correct by opening in text editor

License not detected after purchase:

Cause: Activation server sync delay or connectivity issue

Solution:

  • Wait 10-15 minutes and restart Nipper
  • Check internet connectivity
  • Verify email address matches purchase email exactly
  • Contact support: https://fetchmedia.tools/contacts

License was working, now shows unlicensed:

Cause: Online verification failed (network change, firewall)

Solution:

  • Check internet connectivity
  • License remains valid even if verification fails
  • Relaunch application to retry verification
  • Configure firewall to allow Nipper network access
  • Contact support if problem persists

Offline system, cannot activate license:

Cause: No internet connectivity for online activation

Solution:

Cannot open configuration file:

Cause: File corrupted, wrong format, or created by newer Nipper version

Solution:

  • Verify file extension is .nipc
  • Check file size (should be >100 bytes, empty file indicates corruption)
  • If created by newer version, update Nipper
  • Restore from backup if file corrupted

Cannot save configuration:

Cause: Insufficient disk space or file permissions issue

Solution:

  • Check available disk space (need at least 1 MB free)
  • Verify write permissions for target directory
  • Try saving to different location (Documents folder)
  • Close any other applications accessing the file

Recent files list shows missing files:

Cause: Files moved or deleted after opening

Solution:

  • Recent files list shows last-known paths
  • Open moved files via File → Open to update path
  • Recent files list clears automatically after failed open attempts

Cannot drag audio source to video slot:

Cause: Video slot may not be valid drop target (rare UI bug)

Solution:

  • Try different video slot to verify drag works
  • Restart Nipper
  • Use Matrix View to identify which assignments succeeded
  • Report bug if problem persists: https://fetchmedia.tools/contacts

Buzz Out check doesn’t show audio source:

Cause: Audio source is ignored or has no assignments

Solution:

  • Verify audio source assigned to at least one video destination
  • Check audio source not ignored (greyed out in left panel)
  • Ignored and unassigned sources excluded from Buzz Out intentionally

Cannot complete Buzz Out (completion dialog doesn’t appear):

Cause: Some sources still pending verification

Solution:

  • Use “Jump to Next Unverified” button to find pending sources
  • Check Buzz Out summary for counts
  • Skipped sources count as verified for completion purposes
  • At least verify or skip all sources before completion

Routing Check shows issues but I can’t find them:

Cause: Large configuration makes visual location difficult

Solution:

  • Use search/filter in main window to locate specific source label
  • Check Matrix View for overview
  • Export CSV to see all assignments in spreadsheet format
  • Routing Check dialog shows specific source names—search for those in main window

Routing Check shows duplicate assignment warning but it’s intentional:

Cause: Same audio source legitimately assigned to multiple destinations

Solution:

  • Warning, not error
  • No action needed if intentional
  • Duplicate assignments are valid in many workflows
  • Cannot dismiss specific warnings (Routing Check recalculates automatically)
